
Jewell County Community Foundation Awards over $31,000 in Spring Grants
The Jewell County Community Foundation recently convened in May to review fall grant applications. The following grants were awarded:
● $4,383.40 from the Jewell County Community Fund to the Burr Oak Fire Department for purchasing fire equipment.
● $2,178 from the Jewell County Community Fund to the City of Burr Oak for purchasing an AED and outdoor tree bench.
● $2,691.60 from the Jewell County Community Fund and $2,858.40 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund to Jewell County Fire District 6 for personal protective equipment.
● $2,180 Jewell County Community Fund to Jewell County Strong for summer activities for Jewell County Youth.
● $1,740 from the Jewell County Community Fund and $3,000 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund to First Baptist Church for a new front door and platform.
● $1,000 from the Jewell County Community Action Fund to the Jewell Chamber of Commerce for the annual fireworks display.
● $558 from the Jewell County Community Fund and $1,000 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund to USD 107 Rock Hills for a new tuba for the band program.
● $4,674.80 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund to the Jewell County Hospital for purchasing a new ultrasound machine.
● $2,845 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund to the City of Formoso for Neptune software and training
● $2,000 from the Jewell County Community Fund to the Guardians of St. Luke’s Church and Cemetery for restoration of its church
The awards totaled $16,731 from the Jewell County Community Fund and $14,378.20 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund, with an overall total of $31,109.20.
