Fall Grants Awarded!

During its fall grant cycle, the Jewell County Community Foundation awarded over $44,000 to 14 projects throughout the Jewell County area. The following organizations received funding:
- The City of Jewell: $10,000 for booths and tabletops for the 302 Delaware Project
- Burr Oak Community Library: $1,430 for furniture and a drinking water system.
- The City of Burr Oak: $5,000 for tuckpointing at the Burr Oak Museum.
- The City of Esbon: $2,495.76 for labor and equipment necessary to repaint two sides of the Esbon Community Center
- USD #107: $1,130 for an AED for the old high school building.
- Jewell County EMS: $2,319.99 for a Pediatric Trainer.
- The City of Mankato: $1,168.08 for materials for a Mankato Country Club sign. This is an Eagle Scout project.
- St. Theresa’s Catholic Church: $1,130 for an AED.
- Jewell County Strong, Inc.: $2,000 for the Art, Cheer, and Connecting Communities project.
- Mankato First Baptist Church: $1,465.40 for supplies to update flooring.
- Jewell County Historical Society: $7,822 for replacing windows in the museum.
- Jewell County Hospital: $3,000 for an underground irrigation system for the walking trail.
- Mankato City Library: $1,023 for Windows 11-compatible computers.
- USD #107: $4,242.50 for a Spot Vision Screener. This round of grants was made possible by two funds at the community foundation: the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, which focuses on improving quality of life throughout the county and the Jewell County Community Fund, which focuses on the present and future needs of Jewell County.
