The Jewell County Community Foundation met to review applications for its Fall grant cycle. The following grants were awarded:
From the Jewell County Community Fund:
- USD#107 - $3,620 from the Jewell County Community Fund for supplies for the Rock Hills School store.
- Jewell County Helping Hands Ministries - $2,000 from the Jewell County Community fund for food pantry vouchers.
- City of Jewell - $3,300 from the Jewell County Community Fund for materials for upgrading properties.
- City of Jewell - $4,400 from the Jewell County Community Fund for new stoves for the Jewell Community Center.
- USD#107 - $1,500 from the Jewell County Community Fund for folding tables and chairs.
From the Dane G. Hansen Fund:
- Mankato Volunteer Fire Department - $5,000 from the Dane G. Hansen fund for the purchase of a large volume brush truck.
- City of Esbon - $1,939.88 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund for planters, soil, and plants for main street beautification.
- Kansas Mammoth Festival, Inc. - $2,500 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund for musicians for the Mammoth Festival.
- Jewell County Strong - $2,000 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund for landscaping for the Wellness Center.
- City of Esbon - $1,500 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund for hot water on demand for the Esbon Community Center.
- USD#107 - $5,000 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund for playground remodel materials.
- USD #107 - $1,500 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund for fund for folding tables and chairs.
The awards totaled $14,820 from the Jewell County Community Fund and $19,439.88 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund for a total of $34,259.88.
