Fall Grants Awarded

The Jewell County Community Foundation met to review applications for its Fall grant cycle.
The awards totaled $14,820 from the Jewell County Community Fund and $19,439.88 from the Dane G. Hansen Fund for a total of $34,259.88.








The Burn Association

The Burn Association was awarded a grant to upgrade their trucks and tanks with new equipment to have safer and more efficient burns.

"What a blessing to receive this grant! We operate on a very small budget and these grants make a difference" said Charles Smies.

City of Jewell

The City of Jewell installed new welcome signs in their downtown after participating in a "First Impressions," program with Miltonvale.

"The signs will help create a more vibrant, and welcoming downtown area," said grantee Shelby Bohnert.

Rock Hills Elementary

Preschool children at Rock Hills Elementary each received three books of their own thanks to a grant to the Smoky Hills Public Television.

Programs like this help prepare children for kindergarten and develop a life-long love for learning.
